Title - “First forging of a knife and a Japanese wrapped handle”.
Bob Rupert and Video Creations are working
together to present blacksmithing videos that are entertaining to
all. Both the blacksmith and the whole family will enjoy this
video. Bob invites you into an 1880's blacksmith shop to watch as
he creates a rough forged knife. This is not your typical
"instructional video" giving you 1,2,3 steps of how-to. Instead,
Bob is captured working his craft and explaining the fundamentals
of making a rough forged knife. The first part of the video Bob
goes on location. Using a blacksmith shop with a bellows see how
Bob starts the first rough forgings of a knife. He then returns
to the other shop to continue the rough forgings. Later he shows
you how to make a Japanese wrapped handle.
If you are interested in starting into
blacksmithing, this video will encourage you to try the craft by
seeing the ease that Bob works the metal. If you are an
accomplished blacksmith, you can enjoy Bob's blacksmithing and
teaching techniques. Look forward to more videos in the series
of "Blacksmithing with Bob Rupert".

working his craft and explaining the fundamentals of making a
forge welded fire tool. First Bob draws out and makes a “twisted
loop” handle. Next, at the other end, he makes a loop and forge
welds the joint. See how hot he has to keep the metal to make the
weld. He then splits the loop making a hook and fulcrum fire tool
end.
